Currently I have a Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmoore as my hunting rifle and it works fine. My only major gripe like many before me is the stock. Now that Magpul has a hunter version out finally, this would fix the issue, but at 3 pounds it seemingly would make the rifle a bit on the heavy side for lugging around in the mountains.

The tikka .308 barrels are not slow barrels. Mine shoots factory FGMM 175s at 2530 while my 5R shot at 2500fps. The 6.5 tikka barrels are slow but accurate as hell and thats what matters.
