For an intermediate solution that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I use Cen-Tec hoses on my vacuums. They're pretty good hoses - better than what comes with the vacuum and easy detach nozzles. Really good for dust collection. I use a 16' hose with my Ridgid shop vac for dust collection in my shop and quite like it.
