She was born in Loogootee, Indiana, April 24, 1925, to Michael Leonard McCarthy and Mary Florence (Mudd) McCarthy. On June 10, 1950, she married the love of her life, Leo "Pat" Patterson in the All Saints Catholic Church in Cannelburg.
