It goes like this, the battery has sufficient charge to energize the starter solenoid, but once the solenoid contacts close and power is supplied to the motor, voltage to the solenoid drops and the contacts open, removing power to the motor.In general, broad brush stroke, I would imagine most would say FI has the nod.
