Temp light comes on and immediately after the fuel injection light comes on and the engine seems to go into a "limp" mode. The fan runs and the coolant level is where it is supposed to be. This assumes the head gasket was correctly installed with proper torque and proper torque sequence increments and using proper pattern tightening. This mule would over heat when only going slow after about 30 minutes. The fan would never come on. First I bleed the air out of radiator and got it hot and set on incline. This didn't make fan work.The over heating light come on after about a 15 to 20 minute ride. The mule was very sluggish until we found one plug was not firing correctly. I fitted another and away we go easily up the hills now but the seems to be a loud knocking noise. Is that normal for the v twin? It is the cable controlled valve on top of the carb, next to the main throttle cable and slide.
