2013 JKU running hot. 09-19-2017, 01:24 PM. I have a 2013 JKU with 50K miles, engine seams to run hot, temp is around 220F, but at times when I open the hood, the hood prop is extremely hot to the touch and need a glove to use. Took it for an oil change and coolant love was very low; below the low level. No leaks or pools of fluid are ever seen.

Decided to replace thermostat. Put new Mopar thermostat in, and the JK still runs at 220 on average. Took JK to my other mechanic. Hey all, I just recently had a TruTrac LSD installed in my rear differential. Today I noticed 2 things. 1) the little rubber seal on my rear dana 35 pumpkin oozes oil when I press it. 2) the rear differential is really hot (can touch it for about 3 sec before pulling ..., 2013 jk running hot above 3000 rpm. I can’t find any leaks in the system. I did try bleeding it today and no luck. Coolant is full an so is the reservoir is just below max. Never had any issues till I was towing the jet skis back from havasu a few weeks ago. Got to 3/4 on temp gauge. And now it likes to go above to 3/4 when I’m not babying it., He said 4.0 engines are well known for airlock problems, and that he wanted me to come in and have them use a special vacuum tool to take a vacuum on the coolant system and draw a vacuum on the empty coolant system, check to make sure it had no leaks and then to refill the system, using the vacuum to pull the coolant back into the …, It was not my intent to dredge up all the old transmission temperature issues on the JK. I only wanted to know the temperature setting of the Trans Hot Oil Light. I have an aux trans oil cooler installed. After a 35 mile highway run at an OAT of 108 degs, I measured my transmission pan temperature with a laser thermometer, and it read 204 degs F., Mine only appears to be running hot after I have been going down the road and have the A/c on. If I turn the A/C off, the temp goes back down after a mile or so. Speed does not seem to matter... only the A/C running. The jeep is a 2004 4.0L 5 speed. I am not the original owner but have had the jeep for more than 2 years., RHD 2013 wrangler after 1 1/2 hours radiator fan runs super loud and doesn’t shut off until engine is turned off, on mail route. Any ideas. Usually if the rad is low and the temp sensor senses the engine is getting to hot it will switch the fan into a higher speed to try and cool things. Sounds like a plane taking off., They replaced the unit, but the Jeep still is running hot (230+ on moderate hill climbs). Remember, it never used to do this. The mechanic said it might be the thermostat. I had them replace the thermostat. No difference. Anyway, it is now September, and the JK runs right around 210 - 220 on the flat, but will get over 230 and more on hills., It was running hot before the install as well which JKs are known to do. There is a lot of heat being transferred to the coolant from when it is at the front of the block to the back that will still occur regardless of whatever radiator you have. I recently purchased a new 2017 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Recon edition. The headlights are great and perform similar to the HIDs on my Audi S5. These headlights appear to have integrated Daytime Running Lights (3 LEDs under the main LED unit) but I have not figured out how they operate.
