Invitae NIPT taking longer than normal. I did my blood work on sept 17th and was told that typical turn around time was 5-7 days. Well it’s been 10 days so I contacted Invitae and they said it’s still processing and taking longer than usual and to try back tomorrow.

I got my NIPT bloodwork done on Monday (Oct 9, I was 10+1) where they took two vials of blood and got the results on Thursday night (Oct 12). The company my OBGYN uses is Invitae! Baby is negative for the tested chromosomal abnormalities...It may mean that something happened to like all samples processed by that tech/ machine day and while you got results maybe others didn’t etc - so it’s very likely you’ll just get same normal results but they need to re run all samples due to some issue that day. I wouldn’t really be concerned, your Nt and anatomy scans are normal etc.NIPT is pretty new in the grand scheme of things, and Invitae even newer. I definitely had ask how to order it when I first had someone bring it up last year. There are no Dynacare labs here and they are the ones that run the Harmony test. To get a Harmony test in BC you have to get your blood drawn at the hospital after having received a “number” from the BC Prenatal Genetic Screening Program.
