Hey okay my mom has a 2011 honda pilot on the passenger side there is a whining noise while driveing can it be a bareing an belt tensior wheel barrien or power sterring and r all these easy to fix. If the noise increases as you rev the engine, it's a very good chance it's the alternator and it needs to be replaced.

Two mechanics told me a new engine, or a rebuild. But this 06 pilot has 120000 miles, the lifters have been adjusted, they checked the pistons. Everything was in spec. It seems to originate from somewhere on the passenger side front., If this is happening, you will get an audible, metallic clunk every time you move forward/move backward and stop. Also, I just replaced my stock 160k mile top strut mounts and shocks. The plastic part of the bearing was worn through in a few spots and could have been contributing to my clunk. Sid The Kid.
